Today was wet, wet and wetter. It was a day to do absolutely nothing so that's just what we did. Apart from opening and closing hatches between down pours we sat in the cockpit and read books. There was next to no entertainment in the harbor and the beaches were devoid of people. Even Gerry couldn't invent jobs to do today! I didn't feel so great, had a headache, sore throat and roaring temperature, I can't think where this apparent virus has come from as we really haven't been in contact with anyone but I suspect it must have been blown in on the breeze! I've dosed myself up with all sorts of cold and flu stuff and hope that it works quickly.
With that said I'm off to bed. Hopefully there will be more to tell you tomorrow but if I don't feel better you had better not hold your breath!

Well I woke up feeling the full force of an oncoming cold, how very unpleasant, and began my day with dosing my self full of medicine - not the best start by any means.
The rain wanted to play the open and close the hatches game but Gerry had a plan to win. We have always had an awning that goes over the front of the boat covering the forward hatch and allowing it to remain open but we have never used it before now, the time had come to try it out. Gerry struggled to put it up and secure it, I did nothing to help as I was finding it difficult to do anything except wallow in the misery of headache and cold. The real test happened much later in the day when we had a decent downpour, happily the rain didn't come in so we are now able to leave the hatch over our bed open and get the breeze through in all weather. I struggled to have a shower and put on some clothes, made the bed and then retired to the cockpit to read, it was a legacy from my mum who always made us get out of bed, have a wash and clean Pjs and fresh bedding no matter how ill we were feeling, thanks mum!
Whilst there was really nothing to do today, in between the rain showers Gerry "found" a job and put up a boat hook holder inside the cockpit. The worst thing about it was that we had to open every box, in every cupboard to find the damn hooks which Gerry "knew" he had seen and was sure they would be in the next box, in the next cupboard! Of course it was in the very last box he looked in and by then we had had the under floor storage lockers up as well as opening all the cupboards, he had even looked in the sewing kit, despite me telling him they weren't in there for certain! We did do an inventory of all the boxes some time ago but to resort to looking at that just wasn't part of the "boy plan" . Anyhow that took care of at least ten minutes of the day. I had to have an afternoon laydown with the fan blowing cool air over me and Gerry nodded off in the saloon. We struggled to sit in the cockpit for a sundowner, not that there was a sun to see vanishing from the sky but we did see a rainbow! The only harbor entertainment was provided by a couple on a Swedish flagged boat, when they jumped into the water naked and then dried off on their transom in full view of the harbor, the boat directly behind them must have been offended as they dropped their mooring ball and motored to another mooring ball on the other side of the harbor. Whilst I don't have a problem with nudity and I thought they were fairly discrete in the way they went about it, I do think that they should be a bit more considerate of everyone around them, particularly as there are folks from all nations and families which don't have the same thinking on public displays of nudity. Anyway that was all the happenings for the day in a nutshell. Boring as all hell but I didn't really care much as I just wanted to be left alone to wallow in the misery of this cold. Fingers crossed for me that this cold disappears as quickly as it appeared.
We did watch another episode of Mr. Robot before going to bed, it is as clear as mud to date, something astounding must be about to reveal itself for us to make any sense of the whole series!
