Yay! There was no overnight fuel leak, it looks like the tweaker has finally gotten to the bottom of the cause. It made the start of the day so much more relaxed and tidier.
We decided that today would be laundry day in the hope that the laundry wouldn't be as busy as it had been on the past couple of occasions. We gathered up as much as we could comfortably carry and bundled it into the dinghy. The harbor was fairly empty of sailing boats but there were 2 cruise liners in dock so there would be quite a few visitors wandering around the shops, a good place to steer clear of for the day. Gerry dropped the laundry and me off to a very empty laundry, Tuesday was a great day to pick! Whilst I loaded the machine and waited for the wash cycle to complete Gerry took off across the road and bought some more soft drink along with a couple of things that he considered essential (yes another bottle of rum made the cut!) he took it all back out to the boat and unloaded it before returning to the laundry to pick me up. Unfortunately he miss-timed it somewhat as the washing had only been in the drier for about 5 minutes so he had to patiently wait until it was dry and then help to fold and pack it back into the bags! It was getting close to lunch time so he did his usual trick of asking if I was hungry and could he take me for lunch, this reads as "I fancy a cheap Chinese for lunch, can you manage to walk that far today?". I can manage on most days but with my torn meniscus it can be quite painful unless I take it really easy so it was a slow uphill walk to the Chinese. For the first time the place was heaving when we arrived but there was a spare couple of seats so we chose our cheap lunch and sat enjoying it. The walk back down the hill had me quite breathless by the time we made it to the dinghy and I was glad to get back to the boat and put my leg up in the cockpit for the rest of the afternoon. We watched as a tall ship came into the harbor and anchored. Unfortunately it didn't have any sails up but we are hopeful that when it leaves we may see it in full sail - only time will tell. Nothing of any interest happened for the
rest of the day and to be honest we were glad of a down day.
