MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY TO KAREN, YAY TO MEDICARE KICKING IN!
Today was a very laid back day, there was nothing urgent to do and we didn't feel like doing anything anyway! The most important thing to happen today was the news coming out of Puerto Rico - all the marinas there were closed to new arrivals, all large gatherings are cancelled and there is a curfew being put into place. Our concern over this is that our sailing buddies Dale and Lorie are currently in Puerto Rico and had plans to work their way along the coastline, stopping at a couple of marinas to get some work done before making their way to St Thomas. We had a facetime call with them after we had texted to let them know of the news and suggested that they make their way straight here to St Thomas if they have an appropriate weather window. They talked it over and we got a message later from them to say they were on their way and to watch out for them tomorrow. We think it was the best choice under the current circumstances and are eagerly awaiting their appearance tomorrow. The wind picked up during the afternoon and whist it isn't affecting us from the sailing point of view we are very glad that our anchoring spot seems to have great holding. We saw gusts of up to 30 knots - enough to give anyone the panic stations about how securely they are anchored! We and every boat around us are firmly in place, let's hope it stays that way!
