A New Shot at Blogging

21 January 2012 | Acapulco, MX
John - WX is Great.... Warm
Well this is my second attempt at setting up a blog. First was through the ISP of our web site. Crashed two months ago and they still haven't got it fixed. Anyway we are sitting here in lovely Acapulco, sunny days (84F) and warm nights. Actually have the AC running while at the dock. Last year when transiting north from the canal we stayed at the Club de Yates, Acapulco. Cost us a fortune. This year we are staying at the Acapulco Marina. Not finished yet but the price is right. $57US a night compared to $240.

I will try to update the past in a new category.... Old Stuff over the next few days.

Had Richard and Richelle Fisher onboard week before last from Puerto Vallarta to Manzanillo and then this last week we had Stephen and Susan Estes onboard from Manzanillo to here. Put them on a plane this AM then went shopping.

Last year a young fellow helped us with mooring the boat at the YC and when we went in to get fuel, be damned if he wasn't there. His name is George "horhe". He remebered the boat and both Lisa and my name. Gave him a job to clean the boat, including the bottom and on Monday he will put a coat of sealer wax on it.

Also a contact from last year was a cab driver that we made a re-connection with. Couldn't ask for a better guy. Has a van and does only specialty cab driving. His name is Jose. Anybody reading this and is going to be in Acapulco, we can get his work number to you. We called him and he took us into town to an authentic Mexican resturaunt and he joined us. Very good english. Also used him to take Estes' to airport, drop us off at Walmart and pick us up. Invited us to his house for lunch and to meet his family. It was quite fun.

Later in the week we will be heading further South and on to Costa Rica. My time is about to expire so all for now.

John
