At 7:00 in the morning on June 21st 2012 I woke up to get ready for my trip to go meet my grandparents in the wonderful place of Tahiti. It was then 2 hours later that I had left for the airport. We had gotten to the airport and gotten our tickets and by then we were headed for terminal C7 and then we realized that we still had 1 hour until we had to board the airplane.
At 11:00 on June 21st we had got to the LAX airport in Los Angeles California and so me and my cousin Sam went up the escalator and got some Panda Express for lunch. After 2 more hours of waiting time we headed to the bus that was going to the air Tahiti Nui airplane. As we walked into the airplane we saw TVs and video games that were on the back of each seat.
We landed in Tahiti at 10:00pm sharp and got picked up by a taxi and went from the airport in Pepeete all of the way to the quay which was where the boat was docked we put our stuff in the bunks and then we ate a sandwich.
The first real day of this trip was June 22nd and we went to the market and there were lots of things that were Tahitian and that were also very interesting. There were fruits, foods, instruments, cloths, and lots more. My favorite thing about this market is that you do not even know what half of the stuff is when you walk in but when you walk out you know what more than half of it is.
After going to the market we went over to lunch at a bar and grill and we ate these sandwiches and fry’s but the fry’s were not on the side they were inside of the sandwich. After eating a delicious sandwich we headed over to Nautisport for some ordered parts
For dinner I had a steak with salad from the food trucks and after dinner, we got to buy these toys called helyco and what you do is you shoot a rubber band that is connected to a plastic lighted toy and it comes down to the ground like a helicopter.
On the 23rd of June we woke up and at nine thirty we went on a race to Morea which was part of the Puddle Jump and our boat got 3rd place. At about 10:45 we arrived in Morea and as soon as we were anchored we all jumped into the water for the first time the whole trip. It was 93 degree water.
On the 24th we woke up and headed off the boat to go swim for about 2 hours and after we headed over to the beach to do all of our festivities like outrigger races, tie dye, relay races, coconut opening, and lots of dancing. My favorite was the outrigger races.
On the 25th we all went over by some bungalows’ to see stingrays in about 4 feet deep water. There were stingray’s, sharks and all kinds of fish; it was the best sight I have ever seen. After the stingrays we went out in front of the boat and snorkeled for about an hour and 15 min
On the 26th of June we went back over to Pepeete for 1 night to get ready for the big sail. While we were there we took a big walk through the park and found a big stadium with dancers in it and so we decided to watch for about 15 min. as we finished we walked over to dinner at a place called Les 3 Brasseurs.
The big sail 27th-30th of June. We packed up and headed for Bora Bora for 2 days. During this time we did a lot more snorkeling and lots of swimming. As well as working on dingy motors and lots of fun things. The next day we got to sleep out on the trampolines 2 nights in a row.
