Huahini Diving

John
It has taken some time to get me back into the water but over the last couple of days we have managed to get a couple of snorkel trips in and finally yesterday we did a very shallow dive. Before diving we had to re-size our weights for the new BCDs. During the dive incident Lisa dumped her weight belt so we were very short on weights. I loaded Walt up first with 17 lbs and he was having a hard time decending so I added another 3 lbs. Then I put 12 lbs in Lisa's BCD and she was having trouble so I added another 3 lbs to hers. That left me with 8 lbs total and I usually dive with 12. We had a short bottle of air so we set up Walt first and put him in the water to test the weights and BC then I got Lisa to do the same. It was an easing moment when she entered the water. After I added the extra weight to her system and she was able to decend she stayed down for thirty minutes getting re-acquainted with the sub surface.
We changed the tanks, loaded up the dinghy and gave John and Pat on The Rose a call to meet us at the acqarium. Fifteen minutes later we are at the acqarium and going over the side. We put our gear on in the water and start our dive. It is a shallow dive, 15 feet max but a good settling dive to rebuild some confidence. We spend about an hour and a half swimming around under water and then head back to the boat. After getting our gear cleaned up and ourselves we head into town for happy hour and to seek out a dinner spot.
We search through all the La Trucks and then decide to move on down the road to a small little resturaunt for a very nice dinner. I had the best Poisson Crue yet and Lisa had some pan fried fish.
We are leaving Huahini today for Bora Bora so we can get Walt nearer to the airport for his return trip on Saturday. We will try to get an early morning dive in on Friday and then lounge around the lagoon. We have to check out of French Polynesia by this Sunday so will be heading further West and onto the Cook Islands and then Tonga.
All for now. John
