John - Getting Better
OK.... a great update. We left the good old USA on Saturday 14 Mar and arrived here in beautiful Denarau Fiji at 0610 on Monday the 16th. Hot and Humid are the numbers in the title. Will take a few weeks to get acclimated but what the heck we both put on way too much weight over the past three months so while we are here we will get a full dose of 12X7 sauna.

One of the first things I need to do is get under the bunks and chase down some power wires to the heat pumps to cool this thing down in the evenings so we can get a decent nights rest. We decided to use some of our time share points from Mexico and splurged on a Weston Resort for the first week. Last year we didn't get up here until sometime the first week of May so it had cooled down somewhat and it still kicked our butts. This year is even worse, and we still have another month of iffy weather to avoid cyclones.

Besides all that everything else is absolutely perfect. The boat is in great shape and all we have to do is start moving crap out of the berths so we can make use of them as they were intended. That may take a couple days. We were so dogged yesterday we came by the boat and just sat around with Malo and then chased him home about 1:30 in the afternoon. Both he and Tevita (David) were here until noon today and then we sent them on their way to attend their uncles funeral tonight. Tomorrow is another day and will keep pressing forward.

News on my cargo. All is fine. Ship left LA the night we left. It is scheduled to arrive in Suva on the 28th and then our container will be put on a truck to Lautoka for full customs review. I hired a local agent to assist me in getting the cargo through customs and down to Denarau. I plan on using them to ship some of the parts we took off back to the states for another Yachtie to use.

Don't expect any better updates than the last time but will try to keep everyone posted as we move forward.

Thank you all, Vinaka

John & Lisa
