Happy Halloween!
30 October 2010
It has been a busy few weeks here for us! Darren came back from a wonderful and very successful hunting trip with our son, and of course filled our freezer with much anticipated deer! We are very thankful to have had many delicious meals of their hard work since then.
Last weekend we went out and discovered a few hiking trails in our community, that Missy really enjoying being "free" on. We meandered down roads mindlessly driving and taking in the scenery when we came across a rural community where we could purchase farm fresh eggs! Of course we had to do this and were we ever glad we did! It turns out that Farm fresh eggs are organic & absolutely amazing! We will be returning to do this again!
We spent the day today catching up with dear friends, and then took Missy to the beach so she could play along side the crashing waves on shore. Afterwards, for something completely different went to the local museum. What a fun day! The museum had many exhibits that were beautifully showcased, with our most favorite being the First Nations story of the sea. It was amazing! The many carvings on display were breathtaking, and the stories of their history and heritage have always captivated the two of us.
Another popular exhibit was a Halloween display catering to the younger visitors. The kids were quite taken with it, and of course it included real people dressed up playing the part of manequins! They would jump out and scare the kids half to death, & you could hear their shreeks throughout the place. It was so heartwarming to witness their fear and excitement with Halloween!
Tonight as I write, the weather here is stormy and pouring rain! Thankfully, we are both happy to be snuggled up inside our nice warm boat with a glass of wine and plans of watching a movie, while others are filled with excitement, dressing up in costumes for Halloween celebrations.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy & funfilled Halloween!
Until next time,
Love & hugs,
