We left Campbell River with calm seas & a little sun peeking out between the clouds. Enough that we had hopes of some wind in sight & some sunshine! Thankfully we must have been living right that day, as all our wishes came true! We got the sails up, the sun came out and we both sported ear to ear grins on our faces!

Our shakedown did come with a little bit of surprise when I discovered an unusual smell coming from the engine room. Thankfully Darren reacts better than I under these situations & is immediately able to look, assess & fix within minutes! Whew! It turns out a cap had worked it's way off of one of the fuel injectors and was spraying diesel over the motor & around the inside of the engine room. At today's fuel prices this is not something we want to do! Those of you who know Darren, know that he can problem solve quickly even giving McGyver a run for his money! He climbed into the engine room and temporarily fixed the problem until we anchored that night in Comox.

To top offour already exciting day. We arrived in Comox to The Snowbirds doing their practice trials! Amazing! We celebrated with wine in the cockpit, & sunshine & smiles on our faces!

Traveling again is great!
