A Paddle, A Sail & One Heck of a Party!!!!
15 May 2012

It has been two weeks since we moved "back home" and I cannot express how wonderful it is to back!
Started the day off with a peaceful paddle to tie up my kayak at our slip, while Darren walked Missy and met me there to help me disembark. (Haven't done that all winter!)
We walked back to the truck, went & picked up some groceries, some liquor and back to the boat we went, excited like little kids to just get going!
We untied, left our slip and I can honestly say I don't think we even looked over our shoulders! We headed out to the bay eagerly wanting to play in the light winds with our newly fitted main sail. It couldn't have been more perfect conditions to just stretch our legs. We hoisted the sail, and stood there with smiles on our faces - happy to be moving back, happy to be away from the dock again, and thrilled to be sailing with our sail, even if it was only 3 knts! Even Missy stayed in the cockpit with us to lavish in the peace and sunshine!
After a few hours, happy hour was fast approaching, so time to lower the sail and prepare to arrive in our slip! Yes, we have our priorities! We arrived to a "Welcome Home Orion" poster complete with the drawing of the constellation, a bunch of helium filled balloons, champagne and a crowd of good friends & neighbours to greet us! Darren docked the boat as if we just left yesterday and we jumped off eager to give our hugs!!!! Our hearts were so full at the excitement of being back "home," we were in awe at the effort everyone put into welcoming us back! We truly live in a very special neighbourhood, & it feels AMAZING to be back home!
Suffice it to say....we had a wonderful time & REALLY enjoyed the Party, catching up with everyone and just feeling so grateful! We still have ear to ear grins whenever we talk about it!
