Masquerade!

29 August 2009
When we first blew into East Greenwich six years ago we knew nothing about the town or the boating scene. We ended up leaving our little Osprey (a Tartan 34) on a Yacht Club mooring for a few weeks as it was a much more protected location than where we had rented a seasonal mooring. Whilst we were there we made the acquaintance of Bob and Chris Kozak who drive the launch for the Yacht Club. They were extremely helpful to us newbies in getting our bearings and generally helping us out. Over the years they have continued to be very helpful to us as they know so much about the resources available for local boaters. As we were motoring about the other day we spied this beautiful catamaran following us back into Greenwich Cove. Sure enough it was Bob and Chris aboard "Masquerade". She is indeed a fine yacht and what is really impressive is that she was built by the Kozaks in their back yard. Tom and I are truly in awe - it takes us all summer to do basic maintenance - I cannot imagine building and outfitting a boat from scratch!
