Send Heat!

19 February 2010
The weather has turned decidedly chilly over the last few days. We have both been digging our fleeces back out, getting out the "winter" duvets and even, today, firing up the propane heater. BBRRRR!

It would appear that all this is atypical for Florida at this time of year - it certainly was not like this 2 years ago. It would appear that this is an El Nino winter which perhaps explains some of this years unusual weather phenomena.

Today was an excercise in frustration, (never mind the chilly temps), as we had packed everything up yesterday, ready to leave the harbor today and stage for crossing to the Bahamas tomorrow. However, when we reviewed the forecast this morning we didn't like the looks of it and decided to stay here for now. So here we are, chilly and just a little disgruntled - but at least it isn't snowing!
