On to Cuttyhunk, MA
25 June 2010
After spending three nights at Block Island we decided to move on to another of our favorite islands in these parts. We topped off all our tanks (fuel and water), left Block Island and headed across the Sounds to the Elizabeth Islands. It was another beautiful day, almost, but not quite enough wind to sail (but we kept trying!) so it was a motor-sail most of the way. As we got closer we could see many boats making their way towards this little harbor - then we realized it was a Friday. We decided to pick up a mooring as the tiny anchorage area was already a tight squeeze - there were only a few moorings left. But we got situated, took a deep breath and enjoyed our surroundings. Having traveled up and down the coast we still enjoy these, our home waters, where we took our very first cruises as beginner sailors a little more than 10 years ago now.
