At this point we have some mixed feelings about being back in the Northeast. First, I must say that we do love these cruising grounds. But...... it is so crowded. Admittedly being in Cuttyhunk on a lovely summer weekend was probably not the wisest choice if we really wanted peace and quiet - I guess we just forgot. We have spent the last two days sandwiched between boats large and small, most of them containing many crew who all seem incapable of leaving their cell phones at home! It amazes me how many people feel the need to conduct the most inane conversations at top volume sitting in the cockpit of their boat when they are surrounded by other people. This is so different from what we experience in other parts of the country. It serves to remind us why we had to leave this area - it all just too intense and busy!
Apart from this though - we have enjoyed the Island and had a good walk about today. Photos show the views. We also enjoyed fresh clams and oysters from the mobile Raw Bar that plies the anchorage during the evening hours - they do a roaring trade and it was all delicious!
