Another beautiful day today but with some rain in the forecast for tomorrow we decided to head somewhere a little different where we would have some on-shore activity available if indeed it should rain. So we headed down the Deer Isle Thoroughfare to reach Webb Cove on the south east side of Deer Isle. Our cruising guide had described an Outdoor Activity outfit here and we decided to check it out. We arrived nice and early and were able to tie up to a mooring right off the dock of Old Quarry Adventures. Immediately we went ashore to check things out and were impressed with what we found. This is a beautiful spot with lovely camp grounds and kayaking, sailing and eco-tours on offer, we were also pleased to find a nice clean bath house with HOT showers! Trails lead off the property to the Settlement Quarry so we had a wonderful hike up to the quarry itself complete with scenic overlook, from which we could see Osprey moored in the cove. The granite itself is amazing with huge slabs still lying here now that the quarry is no longer working. After our long hike we indulged in long hot showers before settling back at Osprey for the evening.
