From Zeballos we motored in calms to Tahsis Inlet where we were met by a blast of wind coming down the valley. We tied up at the WestView Marina and stayed two nights while the west wind howled. In the morning and evening it came down from the valleys across the island and in the afternoon it blew up the inlet from the ocean. The weather radio reported northwest gales in both locations so we were caught between duelling west winds!

"Maybe we should turn that west wind charm to face the bulkhead," I told Steve while we lay awake one night listening to the wind howl through the rigging.
