Elsie and Steve Hulsizer have sailed northwest waters since arriving in Seattle via sailboat from Boston in 1979. [...] Elsie is the author of "Glacier, Bears and Totems: Sailing in Search of the Real Southeast Alaska" (Harbour Publishing, 2010) and "Voyages to Windward: Sailing Adventures on Vancouver Island's West Coast" (Harbour Publishing, 2005).
Steve has 300,000 miles at sea on freighters, destroyers, submarines, fishboats, and sailboats. He has built and repaired naval ships, fishboats, and ferries.

2012: from Seattle up the west coast of Vancouver Island, then across Queen Charlotte Sound to the mainland and the Great Bear Rainforest. We got as far north as Kitimat and the Gardner Canal.
