Seaplane Trip to Vancouver

03 July 2009 | Vancouver
Rhonda
We (Minnie and I) had a great trip up to Vancouver. I took Kenmore Air from Seattle to Victoria and then was able to get on an earlier Harbour Air flight from Victoria to downtown Vancouver, arriving in Vancouver an hour before planned! Minnie did well and I was able to keep her close to me on both flights.

This aerial picture, taken during my flight to Vancouver, gave me a brief preview of our trip to come. The Canadian Gulf Islands (pictured above) are actually part of the same island chain as the San Juan Islands separated and named differently due to being on either side of the International Border. There are thousands of islands to explore and the only trouble we'll have is figuring out which of these we will visit during the next 2-1/2 weeks!

When I arrived, Neal was waiting with a big smile... I had one too! After 2 weeks apart, we were finally together again. The Harbour Air Shuttle driver, who normally stops at all the downtown hotels, was kind enough to take us right to where the dinghy was moored. From there, we spent the rest of the evening relaxing aboard Sea Quell.
