Poet's Cove

After a great rest we were up early yesterday and the weather had improved. The restless shifting winds of the prior night were replaced with calm overcast skies.

We weighed anchor and were surprised with an old ensign (USA flag) that came up on the anchor. We tried rinsing it clean in the ocean but it was covered with barnacles so we are not able to save it.

The anchor rode also brought loads of mud and wriggly wormy life-forms too. Those were diligently rinsed off as the windlass brought the chain on board, to keep the anchor locker clean.

We navigated through many crab trap markers, and took a small gap between two little islands just because it was there. At one point there there three large ferries in our path. We dodged them carefully, and a few fishing boats too.

Some seals visited us on the way, cleverly disguising themselves as crab-pot markers (possibly a gray-day vision issue).

The engine performed flawlessly, probably because Rhonda had spent most of the prior day crossing her fingers. Even machines like to be noticed.

Our early departure made for an early arrival. We set anchor in Bedwell harbor in time for us to walk around the nearby marina, scout out the pools and laundry facilities, and eat a very necessary lunch.

In the afternoon we lounged around the pool, soaked in the hot tub, and did some internet work while the laundry was spinning. Over-all a great day, much accomplished, no nasty surprises, and many smiles.

Today we started with ham and eggs on the boat, then went for a walk on the trail in the nearby park.

This is a picture of beautiful Rhonda at a special tree on the path. This picture is not edited, and was not taken by a professional. Rhonda really is that beautiful!

This tree is called the "tree of doom" because my son Ian and his friends have bumped their heads on it in prior years (prior sailing trips).

We walked along the shore-side portion of the trail, then went back to the resort for lunch. Now we are at the pool updating our blogs and catching up on email before our trip back into the USA tomorrow.
