North Cove at Jones Island

We arrived at Jones Island on Friday and dropped anchor in a cove at the North end. We were lucky to arrive early in the day as quite a few boats arrived later in the afternoon and had to turn around and find somewhere else to anchor.
Shortly after getting settled, we went ashore to explore. We ran into a lot of other boaters as well as kayakers that were camping on the island and overheard some boaters admiring Sea Quell. Well, we were quite proud...we know she's a great boat but it's always nice to hear the compliments! The above picture was taken from Jones Island. Sea Quell is anchored in the middle.
Jones Island is fairly small (located close to Orcas Island) and is owned by the WA state parks so there's access to the entire island through trails and beaches. The next morning we went for a short hike on a loop trail around half of the island. We saw lots of eagles. I had read about some very friendly deer that inhabit the island, but we did not see them this trip. Neal has seen them on prior trips here.
