Our Tommy, her official name is still Freebooter until next year, is now berthed at Western Port Marina until the end of the year.
She is currently undergoing renovations including:
1. Perkins 80HP engine: gearbox repair (done); clean heat exchanger (underway); replace worn out O-rings, gaskets and thermostat. Work is being done by Chief Engineer Paul Saunders and Steven Cullinen, Professional Marine Management
Geoffrey Hooke (Skipper), Paul Saunders (Chief Engineer)
About:
Geoff is the owner of Our Tommy. He will retire at the end of 2019 and sail north from Melbourne for Queensland's warmer waters. If he gets there alive Our Tommy will be based at the Mackay Marina at the southern end of The Whitsundays. [...]
Paul lives in the bowels of the engine room and is allowed out after dark to roam the marina for scraps of vegan food. He is under the delusion that all his hard work in the engine room will be rewarded by sailing privileges. Paul behaves well if given a glass of cheap red.
