A few days after arriving in Trincomalee, we left on an 11 day drive to see the sights of Sri Lanka. We started in Pollonuwara, seeing ancient temples, then went to Sigiriya Rock, climbing to see the fort on top of the rock. Kandy was really good, and we saw a tea factory, the casket of the Buddha's tooth and some Kandyan dancing. The hill country was a great place to relax, surrounded by tea fields. In Tissamaharama, we did game drives to Yala and Uda Walawe National Park, where we saw many elephants and a leopard. In Galle we went to see a snake centre and the Galle Fort. We drove up to Negombo, then the next day back to Trincomalee. All in all, it was a very good trip.
