Some stuff

04 June 2013
Whilst I try to catch up (to bring it sort of up to date) this will (soon) be a totally abridged version taken from notes I put on my phone, until I catch up (egad.... I'm hopeless!!)

In the meantime, here's some recipes for a couple of things......

Some helpful recipes :

Home-made mosquito repellent
Combine in a 16 oz bottle:
15 drops lavender oil
3-4 Tbsp of vanilla extract
1/4 Cup lemon juice.
Fill bottle with water.
Shake.

Homemade Furniture Polish Cloth
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar plus a few drops of jojoba oil—makes a great wood cleaner and polish. The vinegar pulls the dirt out of the wood, and the few drops of oil lubricates the wood so that it doesn’t dry out.
Dip a soft recycled cloth, such as one of flannel, in the vinegar and oil mixture, and wipe furniture.

N.B.
*You can substitute lemon juice for the vinegar.
*If you are cleaning something that could possibly stain, use white distilled vinegar.

Lemon Oil Duster
Most commercial lemon oil is not all natural, but may contain petroleum distillates. Contact herbalists for pure sources of lemon oil. Traditionally, lemon oil has been used for furniture because it is so lubricating and antiseptic.

10 drops lemon oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
A few drops olive oil or jojoba
Dip a soft recycled cloth, such as one of flannel, in the lemon oil mixture, and wipe furniture.
