I have loved boats all of my life. I can remember staring with rapt attention at pictures of sailboats in Sail Magazine at the barber shop while everyone else was trying to sneak peeks at Playboy...I love women, but sail boats are my passion.
At nearly every marina and boatyard around the bay, there are dozens of sailors crawling all over their boats in preparation for their respective Pacific Cup race starts. It's an interesting bit of observation. Some boats have most of their crew aboard, worrying every detail. Others sit silent, apparently ready to go. I think we're somewhere in between. Delicate Balance is rigged...the only decisions left are headsails. Two more sleeps and we're off.

How about a little respect for us and our friends on Cinnabar?

They were a bit frightening to watch originally, as they were kind of.....like fly rods. They bent like hell under a load, and we load t hem up pretty well with our huge asymmetrical kites. [...]

We're going to attempt to bring the race a bit closer to you through nightly postings describing our experiences on the 2010 Pacific Cup. It'll probably be boring as hell because we're actually a boat full of friends that like sailing [...]
