The Horror...

It really doesn't hit home until you see it up close in person. Hurricane Norma ripped through La Paz in October, with winds coming right into the estuary from the North. While most marinas were protected, Marina Cortez had little protection from a direct hit. We saw several videos of the damage to the marina but walking right next to a sunken boat gave every sailor the heebie jeebies. Doubly so for us, as it's a large catamaran.
We were lucky enough to get a slip however, to make it easier to get Stephanie and John off the boat, and Daughter Alyssa and SO Eric on. While power was not available, fresh water helped get a month of salt off the boat.
After laundry, fueling up and re-provisioning, we headed to the islands above La Paz for some chill time with Alyssa and Eric. Water temp is 87F, so time to jump in and clean the water line.
