We’re Mike and Verena. We met while working aboard a NOAA hydrographic research vessel in Alaska, collecting data to update nautical charts. We later moved to Portland, Oregon, and worked for a hydrographic firm that kept us working aboard boats and ships all over the US.
[...]In 2011, we quit our jobs, bought a sailboat, and went sailing in Mexico. We eventually made the Baja Bash back up to California and sold the boat. For Christmas 2015, we bought ourselves a new boat – this time a trawler to further explore the Pacific Northwest. When we’re not on the boat we travel in our minivan camper and work part of the year. We are both 100-ton licensed captains and would love to help you with your boating adventures.
