Sao Miguel
22 May 2012
David
We had a great sail from Faial to Sao Miguel. It was a following wind and we made it in 22 hours. There were lots of dolphins and stars to watch on the way.
Kerry has joined us and Stosh is leaving today. A front has just passed over and we have an ideal weather window to begin the leg to Gibraltar. So Skinny and Kerry are going provisioning and I'll clear out and arrange to top off on diesel. We should be sailing by 2:00pm.
I would have liked to stay and see more of this island but if we leave now, with luck, we will be able to spend 4 days in Southern Spain, which interests us all. I'll have to go back to sat phone updates after this post and will try to have them done by 4:00pm EST.
There are some new photo's posted from out crossing.
