Fond Farewells

Lambrights and Kerry
Our last night on David’s incredible boat, docked in Palma alongside some monster world class yachts, drinking one of my last San Miguel beers before heading back to reality… How does one ever enjoy the simple things in life again? This trip has been amazing!

The morning started out with a nice breakfast of sausage, eggs and coffee then with Adam and I going for a dive. The cala we spent the night in was the best of the trip with a mile long sandy beach with a bar every quarter mile. Our journey to Palma started around noon. We motored along the coast line where we continued to see rock formations and many a monster cave formed over the years in the rock walls by erosion. One should be able to see what I’m referring to with the accompanying photos. If Dave and his families time here in the Mediterranean Sea is anything like what we experienced on our trip it will surely be one of the most remarkable summers their family has ever spent! For Matt, Adam and I this trip will remain in our memories forever- thanks Lambrights!!!

Four week ago I glimpsed Spain for the first time as we came through the Straights at dawn. The Rock of Gilbralter, the Pillars of Hercules-it has only gotten better since. We are experiencing Spain as it should be seen, aboard a great boat on the deep blue sea taking in the majestic scenery as it slowly glides past us. The landscape of the shoreline is one of rugged beauty-sheer limestone cliffs, abundant natural arches, innumerable caves and breathtaking calas (coves). We explored numbers of these, sometimes for the day and often anchoring overnight to enjoy the towns, restaurants, beaches and bars. It’s been incredible! I look forward to sharing the details. Many thanks to Dave for the invitation to make this trip; his patience and his generosity. He continues on while we go home. A safe voyage to all the future guests of the Palarran. Buen Suerte Dave and muchas gracias.

This was the most amazing trip ever. The scenery was amazing. We saw cathedrals, beaches, fish, and a lot of umm very exposing people like they “forgot” to wear clothes this morning. Ya that was scary both genders. But we went scuba diving and had a blast. I wasn’t able to go to the clubs at night they said that I was to young but I know that they thought I would party too hard and break my foot dancing like Skinny Dave,. I did get sick this trip I got sea sick but I didn’t think about it. This trip was the best trip ever.

This trip will be a memory to me forever and ever. I had so much fun sailing/ boating around these marvelous islands. I had the fantastic experience of meeting some new people, and a new culture. The culture was way different and more of what I like. Ibiza was way incredible and I had an amazing time. All of these ports are amazing and I am so glad the Uncle David let us experience part of this with him it was life changing. We encountered the most beautiful beach yesterday in Porto Cristo and sadly had to leave the next day. The beach was nearly a mile of sand with everything a teenage boy could want. This was the most incredible trip ever!!! Spain’s the S***!:)

Sailing Route

Aldarion was the Heir to the King of Númenor. He was a great captain and adventurer, to the dismay of his father, who wished his son to spend his youth on the island he would one day rule. Aldarion, though, felt the call of the sea, and he built himself a vast ship, larger than any that had been seen at that time. He called it PALARRAN, an Elvish name meaning 'Far-Wanderer', and in it he journeyed the Great Sea to Middle-Earth. JRR Tolkien, The Silmarillion
