Ajaccio

The capital of Corsica is Ajaccio . This is where Napoleon was born and is a busy city. The marina was full so we anchored in the bay. Jeanne and Elaina spent the day doing wash and the boys cleaned the boat. The water Gendarmes (police) paid us a visit and checked all our passports and paperwork. They were very nice and we had no problems. This was the third official visit we have had while sailing Corsica. The customs guys stopped and made sure we complied with VAT (tax) requirements and the Coast Guard also checked us out. I personally have no problem with officials making sure things are on the up and up. We enjoyed a nice dinner on shore and Nick and Andrew stayed out to see the nightlife.
We overnighted in a small protected bay, Campomoro 41 38.3’N:8 49’E . There was a nice stone watchtower on the hilltop that Nick, Andrew, and Elaina hiked to. We needed to meet up with the Housler families the next day so we left early and headed straight to Sardinia.
