We thoroughly enjoyed Bequia but we are now northbound to the Blue Lagoon in St Vincent which is a really hard beat, even though I sneaked up the lee of Bequia. We give up and switch the motor on for a couple of hours , turning on the water maker we should make 40 gallons by arrival. We thread our way through the reef into the lagoon, holding my breath as the water under the keel shoals to 10cm ,we pick up a buoy for a couple of nights. The area is dead with a capital D most of the bars in our guidebook have closed down. We are after a new mucho powerful outboard so we head to KP marine which is the Yamaha outboard dealer here. We enquire about an outboard and the assistant says they have one but is unsure of the details, we are asked to wait as the manager is on the phone fixing her hair appointment the conversation goes into highlights so we say we will call in on our way back from our walk. We call in to learn that the outboard is sold, that is it nothing further is said, it is like a Monty Python sketch.
