Mykonos

Up early at 6am & motoring to Mykonos by 6.30 to beat winds that were due to rise around 9am. A good trip, only 3 hours & we were anchored in Ormos Ornos (bay) in Mykonos. Architecture is quiet incredible – white square houses with blue shutters & doors of many colours, but the corners of all the building are smooth & rounded! Lots of windmills & churches. We caught a taxi into Mykonos town after we waited for an hour for the local bus that didn’t arrive. What a disappointment! Just a huge international cruiser port with a maze of alleys loaded with tacky tourist shops, expensive clothes & jewellery boutiques. In peak season up to 12 ships a day arrive in Mykonos – one busy place – but not the place for us! We spent about an hour wandering, then back to Pannikin for the afternoon to catch up on photos, blog etc & a quiet beer in the lovely bay.
