Sunday 4th May
The forecast was for easterly winds at 10-15kts which we thought if all went well we could make it to Guadeloupe in daylight hours. I wasn’t all that keen to get going as I knew it would be another day of bashing into it, which is how it started but the wind was stronger 15-20kts – still nice sailing. After a couple of hours to our surprise the wind changed around to the ENE which meant I was able to ease the sheets and Pannikin took off. It turned out to be a beautiful sail and arrived at Deshaies on the north end of Guadeloupe at 2pm. We went to check in but without any luck as it was Sunday and everything was closed, so back to Pannikin for a beer and de-brief.
We were all a bit tired as the anchorage at Montserrat was extremely rolly and none of us slept well, so it was early to bed
