Panormitis becomes and Australian

Panormitis becomes and Australian
Finally we have the Australian Ships papers. Can't believe we started this process back in January. The red tape requirements here in Greece are over the top. We thought having to have the bill of sale notorised in Australia and then we had to send it off to DFAT for Apostille seals on copies, express courier back to the owner in the Netherlands who had to do the same thing. We got that sorted just before we left Aus 17th March and thought we had the de-registration papers but no this was only the consent to be able to de-register the boat in Greece and this is all legal requirements. Finally on 26th March they were finalised and sent to Canberra...
That is all behind us now but we still have to confront the Customs Office here for a transit log. We have met an Australian couple with a Bavaria who have just had it put back in the water after wintering and they already had a transit log from last year but had to get it back from yes the office we have yet to confront. Francis had the most entertaining description of his encounter with them on his blog and while it was a great read the actual getting the log was horrendous. Happy days ahead for us after the holidays.
Until then the Asutralian flag is still folded up but will be definetly put up on Anzac day.
The poppies here are just amazing......fields of then thru' the bus windows and clumps of them on the footpaths and traffic islands. Will have a bunch for Friday. Lest we forget.
To celebrate the arrival of the papers, Glen and Gary took their flat top trolley plus our nanna trollies to do some serious provisioning. The pic. shows the second trip of the same cargo.
