Half way across the Atlantic

16 December 2014
Half way 17 12.96’N:44 00.00’W
This was the position Gary had decided for the halfway. Back in 2008 we all had to secretly purchase some goodies for a half way celebration and we continued with the same idea for this trip. We hit 44⁰ 00.00’W at 1015 central Atlantic Time on day 8…2nd December. The goodies included sweet treats which we promptly set upon with a cup of coffee (from the espresso machine). The savoury items we had for lunch which resembled a tapas table. Nonalcoholic Sangria with cheeses, figs, asparagus rolls, stuffed dates and prosciutto grissini sticks plus more.
Chores still had to be done and a broken block for the spinnaker had Gary up the mast to replace it. Fortunately the sea was calm and the sun was out, and that makes everything good.
