Denarau and Vuda

10 September 2015 | Vuda Marina
We went across the bay to Vuda ( pronounced Vunda) marina so Janelle and Darrell could get ashore with their bags without having to negotiate the swell in the dinghy. We did have a berth booked notified them our ETA was 11 am. At 5pm we were brought into the basin and rafted up to another boat on the wall.... So sorry, you will have to cross their decks to get ashore. Next day we were put against the wall ourselves. "Sweet Chariot" ( David and Jill) came in for fuel and found the dock closed so they rafted to us for the night. Sundowners on Panormitis then our farewell dinner for the crew of ribs. The restaurant was closed for a private function. Got them away at 5.45 am and got the boat ready for Rod Waterhouse ( our broker when buying both our o/ seas yachts) to visit. Funnily, when we were in Fiji 2009, Rod saw us when he came to pick up a yacht for delivery....doing the same this year. We left Vuda this morning. Back to Denarau to check with the sailmaker....a new boom bag for the main and the cockpit cushions recovered.....and to have dinner with our old sailing friends from 2008, Mike and Devala. They are leaving their yacht " Sea Rover" here for 7 weeks while they return to UK for the Rugby World Cup....Gary is not half envious.
Tomorrow we will head to Mololo Li Li for the Musket Cove regatta week. Planning to catch up with Matilda there.
