George Town, Grand Cayman

Arrived this morning with a nice windy and wet squall. Two other boats and their people who we know from Rio Dulce arrived today as well so perhaps that will make this unplanned detour a much more pleasant interlude.

Cayman bound, again

Sometimes life throws curves. We are headed back to Cayman. Our trip to Cuba was cut short and did not go as planned.

Cayo Largo del Sur

Arrived to clear in at the Marina Marlin Cayo Largo del Sur at 11:15 this morning - just under 24 hours from George Town, Grand Cayman. The sail was a mixture of beam reaching, motor sailing and beam reaching again in lively beam seas a bouncy but uneventful crossing.

Home Again

We are tied up to a mooring ball in George Town Harbour. Clearance procedures are complete. We had a lovely sail from Cuba yesterday and last night arriving about 7:30. Time for toast, tea and a rest.

Sapodilla Lagoon

05 January 2019 | Belize
We left Placencia anchorage this morning and motor sailed in a very light northwesterly breeze that eventually moved to the east which is the pattern here. Our plan was to anchor at Sapodilla Lagoon for the night before going around the corner and up the Sittee River to visit friends. When we reached Sapodilla Lagoon we heard that the new Marina at the Reserve was charging a flat rate of US $25 a night. We stopped in and learned that they have three new washers and dryers at a reasonable rate and lovely showers. The laundry is done and we are all cleaned up. Unfortunately there is no one to play with - we are alone on the dock! Well not quite, the no-see-ums are hungrily patrolling the docks, as is the security guy with his rifle.
