Demopolis Lock

This post is being done a bit late as I had no service to post. We left Kingfisher Marina at 6:45 for a 7 am lock down with three other boats from the marina. There was a bit of fog but visibility was ok. It was a long day as there are very few anchorages listed in our guide book. We headed for Bashi Creek anchorage and after 60 miles we were there. What a disappointment! It is a narrow Creek that appear ed o be overgrown with trees hanging over the creek. There were two powerboats anchored near the entrance and it didn't appear to be room for us. We had about 1/2 hour of daylight left so we headed back up river to a spot we scoped out earlier. We anchored inside a green can buoy about 50' from shore in 7' of water.
The first tow came by at 3:am and lit us up like daylight. We got a bit of a rocking as he was moving at 4.9 knots. We were well out of the channel so no issues. I expect from the tows perspective we looked too close to shore as he put his spotlight on us when his wash got to us. The next tow must have been told we were there because he went by so slowly there was barely a ripple from the wash.
