The last lap, so we left Garry’s Anchorage at 5.50am to catch the incoming tide to cross the bar. No wind at all. Dawn Start
Up at 4.30am [we must be mad]! To get to Pancake Creek before tomorrow, when a S Easter is forecast, means a very long haul today. We will pass Cape Capricorn at about 10am before sailing down the outside of Curtis Island and Gladstone etc.

Another Ripper!!
Another day, this time up at 5am and underway at 5.40am. The water is like oil, not a breath of wind. The clouds are quite heavy at present, but it is very early yet.
Back to the Yacht Club
This morning we left again at 8am to catch the high tide at the bar, all went well, plus a bonus,, we started the starboard engine, and it all sounded and felt good. The timber that we hit must have wedged itself in the prop, but has worked out again, maybe with the very strong tidal flow helping it along. We have now run that engine all the way back to Sandakan, and with no vibration at all. What a relief!!!
Anchor down at the SYC 1330pm, battling two and a half kts current ebbing out.
We have our next rally dinner on the 26th, then off early the next day to be in Tawau by 1st September for our final rally do. Remember we started this rally on May 3rd in Langkawi, so we have now travelled every mile or the Malaysian coast and Islands!!
