Marsh Harbor

We traveled to Marsh Harbor since that was a good spot for some strong winds that were coming. Marsh harbor was hit worse than Hope Town by Dorian and it shows. The town is still recovering and there were lots of ruined buildings. The tidal surge was 25 feet and it seems that must have covered just about everything here. The memorial on the waterfront indicated that at least 56 residents died in Dorian, I cannot even imagine what it was like to have 240 mile/hr winds. The main draw of Marsh for us was laundry, cell phone card and a little provisioning. There is still plenty of wealth here based on the grocery store which was the most American like that we have encountered in our trip (we did not go to Nassau though). We had only planned to spend one day here but unfortunately I rolled my ankle on the way back from our errands so we stayed put for 2 more days to give it a break. It was a good idea, it is much better and I should be fine for our crossing. We had a great time visiting with friends on a few other boats (more on friendship later) and said goodbye to Happy Together and Sweet Dreams III who are heading for Charleston SC in a few days.
