It was only a short passage along to Clarks Court harbour so we didn't even put up the main sail. It's a large bay with lots of anchoring possibilities, but also a lot of boats. It reminds me a little of Le Marin in Martinique because many of the boats are unoccupied, and some appear to have been abandoned. Once again, we decided to take a mooring for a few days.

In the old days sailing ships would anchor here to to take on rum that was brought down the river at the head of the bay by small boat. The small island at the entrance to the bay was bought in 2001 and is now a fancy resort.

All this southern coast of Granada is based on shoals and reefs that extend off shore. This means that you have to be careful coming in and out of the bays, and moving from one to anaother, you need to go offshore quite a way to be safely clear.

The boat yard here is quite new (3 years) and is huge, with a 250 T lift; consequently, there are some large boat in the yard. We had been told by other cruisers, Jeff & Sandra from Nawii, about the music bar at the marina, but unfortunately, we found it had closed 3 weeks earlier. So our first stop was to visit the boat broker here, Gary, who is a friend of good friends of ours, Tom & Fran from Sydney, where we shot to breeze for a while.

We travelled around the bay a fair bit in the dinghy. In the bay there is another tiny marina called Whisper Cove.(pic) It is a delightful little spot, and I could see myself hanging out there for a while. Unfortunately, it was Sunday when we visited, so the bar/restaurant was closed. Another quaint spots are Taffy's Bar and Nimrods bar, which I'll write about later.

Once again, we took the bus for several trips to St George's (which I'll write more about later). It was a little easier from here than St David's however, still required a bit of a hike.

After days here, we decided to move to Prickly Bay, which seems to be the main centre of activity.
