The Rat Race.....

15 September 2012 | Brisvegas
Perfect!
Welcome back!

It has been almost 8 months since I last wrote and I know you all must be wondering what is happening! Are we still anchored at Fraser Island? Did we sail off into the sunset to some exotic destination? Were we captured by pirates? (I wouldn't have complaints about that if it was Jack Sparrow!)

But alas.....alack.....we are none of the above. We are now back, as it is very commonly known as, the rat race! How does that happen so quickly? It is scary how easy you can fall back into a routine when you had no set plans or routines for 6 months apart from making sure to get your daily nana nap in!

Well....we left Fraser - deciding to brave it, in spite of the weather not being perfect but it was worthwhile and a great trip home. We crossed the bar at Fraser, got whitewashed and completely soaked a few times but sailed down the magnificent coast in 20-25 knots of wind and arriving back in the Brisbane river a couple of days later.

The rest, as they say, is history and after we dried everything out, including ourselves, life settled back into routine and the day to day grind. I got work a couple of weeks after we arrived back and have been at the same school all year. Jon is working hard on developing and business so it feels like we have been home for longer than 8 months! I was thinking today that it was this time last year that we were sailing north across Hervey Bay enjoying the magnificence of the humpback whales swimming around our boat for hours. A thing of beauty for sure! And it was all free! No tours here! It all seems so long ago! All wonderful memories!

So....I have been thinking about blogging for a while now. I know people are not interested in the day to day grind of life or what we are eating for dinner or when we are going to bed- that's what we have facebook for! But I thought, there are lots of little interesting and funny things that happen in our days and weeks that might put a smile on your face every now and then!

If you are new to this blog, feel free to check out photos of our sailing trip! You don't have to read my ramblings! You will find out very quickly that I like to ramble. I always hope that they are as entertaining for others as they are for myself! Someone has to laugh at my jokes....it may as well be me!

On that note...I am sure it is time for my weekend nana nap! Enjoy the rest of your evening and I look forward to writing again very soon!

Cheers
