Bequia

15 June 2010
Jerie
We made the trip to Bequia from Martinique on calm seas and a little wind. Our jib came in handy and we were averaging over 6 knots. We arrived at lovely Bequia along with Alan and Barbara on Nauti Nauti. It turned out that there were a group of cruisers who had friends in common. It was a lot of fun. The girls had some girl time shopping and glass hunting. We took walks around the island as well as enjoying each other's company. Another highlight of the stay in Bequia was meeting Anne and Steve on Receta. Anne is the author of the book, "An Embarrassment of Mangos" It is a favorite among all cruisers. The book is also filled with recipes that use the local foods. I invited Anne and Steve to Peking for cruisers get together and they came. It was a lot of fun. We had 7 boats represented and the food was great. Anne was delightful and signed our books and Steve also delightful talked with the guys- not about the book. Anna has just published another book called the "Spice Necklass" with even more recipes as well as a follow up of the adventures from the first book. I can't wait to read it.
