Hung out in Solomon Island . One of our favorite places to hang out on anchor. We visited with friends from Brunswick Landing, George and Ellen. It was good to see them again and catch up on what's been going on.Next Cambridge marina to do boat work.

We motored to Deltaville to anchor for one night. Beautiful anchorage . We did end up paying $7 a gallon for diesel, which was way too much to pay

Well, finally time to play catch up with the blog. We did an overnight run from Beafort NC to Norfolk with the help of Chris and Chuck. We were able to sail by Lookout Point then the wind died. Fire up the iron gunny. We mostly motor sailed after that.. We rounded Hatteras around 8 in the evening. Not the horror stories you heard about Hatteras. I guess pick your weather wibndos wisely. At Virginia Beach, we were asked by the Coast Guard to head closer to shore because of military drills. Getting into Norfolk took forever. A lot of barges, dredging also the navy shipyard. We docked at Tidewater and spent a few days there. Chuck and Chris went home. We did get to see Amy Marie, Roy and the twin boys Roy and Philip. Next Solomns

Chuck Rauch and Chris Crall joined us for the outside legs to get into the Chesapeake Bay. This started in Charleston. Our first leg we went to was Beaufort NC. An uneventful trip outside. The wind was less than 10 knots. We broke the watches to 3 hours per watch. Mary and I did the 12 to 3 watch. Mary wasn't feeling well. Shortly after she went below a flying fish joined me on deck. I heard a flapping noise but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Eventually found him on deck. Bit to late to save him.
