Set off from Falmouth at 4am in order to be arriving on 'the other side' in daylight. Met a ship coming into to Falmouth so ducked out the Western channel to stay out of the way and by 5am ish it was light. Wind not great so motor sailed in order to make the passage quickly - no point in stressing poor Bells out too long. Fog set in and a few large ships went near us - we could pick them up on the AIS / chart plotter and hear their fog signals. Received a call on the radio from a Fisher 34 called 'Why Not' which turned out to be the old Spotlight weather man Craig Rich who was going to the same place as us - he had radar and kindly said he'd keep an eye open for us. The fog finally burnt off and the sun came out with a fair wind for the last couple of hours. There't lots and lots of rocks so a careful bit of chart work and reading of the Almanac (the tide is pretty strong too!) and we arrived safely at L'berwrach at 1900 moored up on one of the visitor moorings off the marina. France at last - the adventure is really starting now wooohooo!
