Our winds have died down to about 7 - 10 knots in the last 24 hours resulting in speeds below 5 knots at times. It feels like we're taking a little breather. Time to actually do things again. Naomi pulled out some pink pig flannel material which had been languishing in various closets at home before being loaded optimistically onto Phambili because there would be plenty of time to sew, surely, in the year ahead. Well, finally on the voyage home we will get the long promised pyjama pants made. Without a pattern this project presents an enormous challenge to my rather unpracticed sewing brain. We finally made a template out of taped together computer paper as we had no old pair to pull apart and copy. Tomorrow we will actually cut out and perhaps even sew what will now be pyjama shorts since Naomi has grown too tall for her ancient material.

It felt like a weekend BBQ yesterday evening (it's 2 am now) as we sat outside enjoying the sunshine eating hamburgers. The hamburger buns worked out really well made from Uta's pizza dough recipe (Thanks Uta!. ) Neens made up her own veggie burgers which were actually pretty tasty along with the tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle and ketchup.

As I said it is now 2 am and I feel quite rested, thanks to Neen giving me an extra long sleep. The moon is full, the flat seas are sparkling and we are starting to move along a little faster again. The tooth fairy who has dolled out Mexican Pesos, Polynesian Francs and US dollars may just go Canadian this time when she visits our growing son and retrieves his tooth for the EIGHTH time this voyage!
