London Boat Show

17 January 2013 | Conington
Tracey
Back in the UK for a couple of weeks, and the weather could not be colder, though it is nice to see the snow, and freezing fog from a nice warm kitchen. We are heading for the boat show tomorrow for a couple of days. Richard has a shopping list, so I think it is going to be an expensive old weekend.lol We were having trouble with the starter motor, so he spent quite a few hours taking it to pieces and fitting a new solenoid, she turned over straight away but Richard decided to buy a new starter motor as someone advised him that if the Solenoid goes you are better off replacing the whole unit, so he has ordered a starter motor and will just hold on to it until he needs it. We are also going to a seminar about going on the Arc for next year. We have been told they already have 220 yachts for 2013. So Richard is hoping to secure a place for 2014 or investigating a new company that is doing it now, who leave a little later about 2nd week in December, as they feel the trade winds are better then. So lots to learn this weekend!

About:
We have bought a Sun Odyssey 45.2 and is called Why Not. Richard is going to be Captain, (with my permission) and I am going to be cook, navigator and chief bottle washer. So if we get lost, it will be my fault and I will have to walk the plank, especially now that he thinks he is Jack Sparrow. [...]
