Tacos on The Street

30 December 2018
One of the many benefits of cruising is meeting fun and interesting people along the way.

That's just what happened to us Friday night...
We were enjoying the lively night scene in La Cruz when David recognized a couple off SV Moonshadow, known indirectly through our dear friends, Jeff and Annie Cook, SV Annie. We had never formally met John and Deb Rogers , so we walked up and introduced ourselves and things just evolved from there!

It's Saturday night...time for fun in La Cruz!
We enjoyed cocktails on SV Moonshadow, a beautiful 62 foot Deerfoot. John and Deb have lived on Moonshadow for 7+ years and have cruised her on the eastern shore board, Caribbean, thru the Canal, Mexico, and all over the South Pacific, Fiji, and New Zealand, and other areas in the Southern Hemisphere. The conversation went all over the map!

Jeff, were your ears ringing or buzzing last night?....because many a tale was shared and chuckled over, all at your expense, of course. We just wished you and Annie were here to join the fun, add to the conversation, or maybe defend yourself...hahahaha.

For a casual dinner, we walked to the well-liked "Tacos on the Street" in La Cruz. What a lively place! There was a line of about 20 people, just waiting to be seated. They do tasty tacos, and serve a mean Don Julio Margie! Still feeling the effects of that this morning as I write this.

The sailing community is a small world. You just never know when you might see a familiar boat, reunite with old friends, or meet new friends in the anchorages and marinas along the way.
