San Pancho!

Just up the road from La Cruz Marina, where we've been for the past 2 1/2 weeks, is the sweet little town of San Pancho (also known as San Francisco).
People say it is like Sayulita was 15-20 years ago. San Pancho has a quiet, laid-back vibe, with bougainvilleas overflowing from arches and balconies of charming old casas. No high-rise hotels here. Local businesses and restaurants line the cobblestone streets; The beach life is a combination of surfers, campers, and families; Colored umbrellas contrast the white sand, where swimmers and surfers defy the rough surf break and undertow.
Brunch at Maria's was tasty! An omelette filled with chorizo, avocado, cheese, onions, peppers warmed our soul and filled our tummies. It was fun watching everyday life in motion with the local characters...human, canine and feline! There were some tourists, but it hasn't been overrun. I hope it keeps its charm.
It's easy when cruising to stay on the boat at an anchorage or a marina, and not explore or venture too far from "home". We were glad we pryed ourselves away from Pinocchio for a day's visit to San Pancho! Plus, I love saying "San Pancho!" "San Pancho"!
