Portsmouth / Kittery Cove N.H.
13 November 2016
8/4 our next stop going North was Portsmouth NH. We had a really nice sail and tried "wing on wing" for the first time. It was really a great way to sail dead down wind. The pole that we have is on the heavy side, so rigging the pole was a slow and challenging process. Once we had it set up, the sailing was really cool. Pretty much hands free sailing.
This leg of the trip was the start of seeing a concentration of lobster pots, especially as we entered the inlet areas. I love lobster but wow.....traps everywhere along the New England waters. We actually snagged one but thankfully not hard enough to wrap around the prop shaft. We drug the pot bout for maybe 25 yards then it released as we slowed down. We just overnighted in this mooring ball location.
