Still at Damariscove Island we set out to explore the Island more thoroughly. Following the path called Tower Trail we succeeded in going around to the other point of the Island.

The other side of the Island had no residents unlike the other side that had a large private mansion and the caretakers. However this side of the island had a boarded up Observatory. I wanted to climb up it but it was locked, probably because it was “Crumbling” or falling apart.

Aiming to get a good picture of the Catamaran, I had to stand on my Dad’s shoulders doing a “Camera Tower” - cirque de Soleil style. Alec passed up the camera and with one hand I quickly snapped 3 photos. On the way back to the boat I (Mr. Floppy Feet as I was called by my brother) managed to skillfully and painfully do a double trip. My left foot tripping over a rock and my right foot tripping over a root or a branch at the same time. I landed on my right ankle on top of a sharp rock. Two words “IT HURT” but of course that’s what happens if you always wear flat sneakers.
